When to take this course?
- If you are a Teen (Under 18)
- If you are an Adult (18 and older)
- NEW for 18–20 Year Olds (Starting September 30th, 2025): If you are between the ages of 18 and 20, you must complete a full Driver’s Education program if:
- You are a new driver under age 21, or
- You are under age 21 and fail any portion of your driving test.
- If you are a Temporary Resident/Limited Term License Applicant
Anyone applying for a Limited Term License after July 1, 2025, will need to take the Class D, 24-Hour Driver Education Course prior to scheduling your Driving Tests with an Ohio Driver Examiner. This applies to temporary residents in the U.S. who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. If your Permit says “non-renewable, non-transferable,” this requirement applies to you.
